Guest Room Help! Need side tables, lamp, decor, and dresser.

Need a n elegant but functional space. I have guests weekly and I’m sure they are tired of living in a space where they have suitcases on the floor to live out of.

van I say I love my picture on the wall, can we work around it And the cherry sleigh bed? I love those two And would rather not pay to replace bed. Then comforter is a hotel collection darker beige with white border.

Please provide more photos showing all angles of the room and one with the bed made up with your current comforter. Remove tupperware storage bins as it is hard to see what you actually have in the room for furniture. It's a nice space, a clean slate but we need to see more.

Do you have the same guest(s) staying with you every week that we should know more about or do you have a variety of guests of varying ages?

In my opinion a guest room should include a chair to sit in while one puts on ones shoes, a table or desk that one can use to charge a phone or laptop, a reading lamp for reading in bed (are either of yours bright enough), a bench or luggage rack on which to place a suitcase, hangers in the closet, plenty of fresh towels.

A folding luggage rack in the closet would be handy. Replace the small table with a pair of chests with drawers so they can fold away a few things. That's also where they should be able to charge phones or open up their laptop, so chests should have a decent surface. One on each side of the bed should be adequate. Put a small chair in the corner under the TV or a skinny bench on the wall your art is on. I would replace the two lamps with a pair of corded wall lamps. The room would be more soothing if painted in a lighter shade from the art. However, the concept of "elegant" does not carry through in the casual subject matter and rustic frame of the art. Do you have another place for it where you might enjoy seeing it more often? I would get a more traditional piece framed to hang above the bed. Be sure to provide guests with a skinny full length mirror, perhaps on the wall behind the door, so they can check themselves before leaving the room.

    Not a Pro.

First thing, make the bed, so we can see the comforter. Then take pictures head on.

I think adding the art above the bed will help with colors in the room.

Probably repeating much of what @decoenthusiaste has written.

Adding two larger end tables bedside the bed with lamps, or lighting above them on the wall.

As mentioned, luggage rack, charging station is needed.

I would also add a narrow console table and mirror with chair where the art is located now.

There is no reason you can't keep the bed and the art. I might think about having the art re-framed. It has dark colors and could be framed in a wood that matches the sleigh bed, get a slightly larger double mat that is not such a brilliant white. Hang the art over the bed so you see it when you enter the room.

Think about how your guests use the room. Weekend guests don't need a lot of storage. If the closet is empty you can place a luggage rack inside the closet. If they are watching TV it is usually from the bed. I would place the TV on the wall where they can view tv as they are laying on the bed.

A small makeup vanity can serve many purposes, provide a chair for sitting, a desktop, a place to do their hair and makeup.

There is one on etsy that may work nicely with your bed.

If keeping the art, I would try to incorporate the blue or green colors from the art in the bedding and window coverings. Add a small blanket folded at the foot of the bed, an accent pillow and recover the seat of the vanity stool. Add a small nightstand with a lamp with a blue or green base and a little blue dish where they can set their glasses or phone or watch.

    - Can you move the tv to where art is and add a small painted dresser; I think there is room?

    - Move your art to above bed.

    - Place floor lamp in corner near cupboard

    - redo closet with a bench for their luggage and add some fun color - could even remove doors to make space feel large and more interesting.
