Looking to refresh the exterior of my home...mainly paint!..h e l p :)

Hi, I am looking to refresh my home exterior....new porch stairs, porch resurfaced, new railing and new driveway ashpalt...

I also want to paint the garage, front door and the vinyl siding above my garage. I have no idea what color scheme to go with and hoping someone can help me out.

I am fairly certain I want the garage to be black, or a dark charcoal (as well as the front door)...but what do I do with the vinyl above the garage? Is all black too much? Do I do with a dark grey? OR a light color? Do I paint both vinyl's above the garage the same color, or break up the horizontal and vertical? What about the gutters and soffits? Leave white?

Looking for some insights from the design pros...and amateurs hah.

Grey/black on garage door could work with paint colors you already have, basically, A bit darker in first pic below. More of a taupe color on the horizontal siding. Also a view with two colors above garage door.

A gel stain on this door. Looks good with the grey above it.

Don't go black; a dark gray would look good. I would paint the portion just above the garage door that same color. Otherwise the door looks cramped. I like the color of the gable and would not change it.

You need a color that works with your roof and your stone. Thats gonna be tricky because your stone looks to be beige but your roof is a dark charcoal. Gotta have something that works with your windows too unless you plan to change those.

Check out Maria Killam blog. Tons of info and most of what im about to tell you comes from her and from the Brick and Batten blog.

Get rid of the big ass bush and update your posts and railings.

Go light and fresh on your paint. Offhand, id look at BM Edgecomb Grey. Its a green gray that will generally read ivory on exterior. Thats a wild guess you will need to test until you find the color thats right. BM white dove can also work with warm beiges but it has a little grey so might work with your roof. Get samples from samplize.

Bigger and more modern house numbers.

On the paint, light and monochromatic is current. Your garage door is too much real estate IMO to paint black. If you must go dark do something like Kendall Charcoal. A true black would be very harsh.

Figure out body color first then your door and other accents.

You've got a very nice house...with updates it could be a total knockout.
