what is this animal in my pond? by sound

i’m in the PNW and have a large natural pond on my property that is usually visited by mallard ducks and frogs. mostly at night but sometimes during the day i hear a droning “doon.... doon, doon “ i’ve tried to google but haven’t come up with much. any ideas ?

Bullfrogs croaking probably. Look it up on Youtube. While you are there, look up bullfrogs screaming too, it is amazing the sounds these animals can make!

I love the sound they make, but they eat just about everything and anything....including birds. :(

We have lots of them here but Bullfrogs are not native to the PNW and they eat our native frogs and turtles....
