Both my counters and backsplash are glossy. Personally I think anything goes, so do what makes you happy.

Thank you. I will certainly go with what looks best - I just didn’t want to be making a major design faux pas or something.

My counters are leathered finish and I plan on doing glossy for a backsplash. Initially, there was a tile I loved with a lot of texture in a honed finish....then I thought about cleaning it and decided glossy would be a better way to go.

agreed that anything goes and it's personal preference. I think that glossy might be easier to keep clean.

My new counters will be polished granite, backsplash most likely will be matte. I have large windows on 2 sides, I worry about having too much reflection if both are glossy/shiny.
