Master Bathroom Layout - Floor Plan Included

Help me with my ensuite bathroom layout and closets. This space got rejigged because of the stairs cutting into the closets and a few other restrictions that I'll try to outline in my questions.

Question 1 -CLOSET- how would you manage the closet space? I'm debating two separate closed his and her closets on either side with a hallway down the middle. This space can not have a window, should we consider a solar tube?

Question 2 -BATHROOM- the ceiling is vaulted down the middle, a centered tub would be a feature under the vault-line, but can be moved to anywhere in the space. What layout would you do? A thought is to have the shower and watercloset on one side and a long double vanity on the other wall, but open to all suggestions :)

Well, now this is my own personal preference, but I do not want to walk past 11‘ of hangers and kaleidoscope of color and texture and shoes (and unless you stage your closet every single day I can’t imagine it looking like the guy‘s closet in 9 1/2 weeks or the Container Store elfa flyer) to get to the bathroom. So, I’d keep the double doors (this is rare for me!) but be sure that if just the right side is open, it’s wide enough to pass through comfortably. And then I’d make two closets on either side of a central hall. I wouldn’t bring them out as far as they can go, give yourself some breathing room, space to come out and twirl around in the hall a bit, under the solatubes. I might even make them reach-ins, so that the whole area can be a dressing room. Because really, if you had walk-ins you’d mainly use the back wall anyway. Maybe make them a little deeper than standard reach-in so that you can use the side walls for hooks and racks for accessories. But you want room in the open to see how you look.

I would dump the double doors from (presuming) the bedroom into the closet. Keep the left most door, the you can hang clothes on the stairwell wall since there's no door opening on to it.

Do not have a door on the water closet that swings into the WC to open. If the door is shut and the person in there has some sort of emergency, the body could block the door making it impossible to open. Either have the door swing out to open, or use a pocket door.

Put a functioning (i.e., opening) window in the WC.

Are any other bathroom walls, outside walls? Then by all means, add a window to the WC or swap it to the other side for a window. In any event, have the bathroom door open so that you do not have to walk around it to get to the WC. You’ll use the WC more often than you will the shower, so make it easy on yourself.

The drawing shows a 3'-5" x 6'-0" windowless room where the watercloset is located. I can not think of a space that could be more unpleasant to be in.

Is that a free standing tub? I see so many pics with free standing tubs next to a wall — but how do you clean the floor in the narrow space or clean the unexposed side of the tub? I agree with bpath — might as well have a hall from the MBR to the bath. Lindsay brings up an important safety issue. If you center the sinks, you’ll have more mirror and lighting options (e.g. sconces).
