I have 3 hours to give my design decision to painters! HELP please!

Good Morning, we're having our house painted in Aruba today! They painted the top of the “turret," "circle" at the front of the house the TRIM color, rather than the main body color, to match the other trim. It wasn’t painted like that before and surprised me when I saw it. They had the main color all over the house before. He said he can change it and paint all of the stucco the same color.

What do you think?? I’m leaning one way towards painting it all the main body color, but I wanted to check with the Houzz community, because I really trust and value this community. Thank you in advance! Please BEFORE and AFTER

Not a pro. I like it painted the same color as the rest of the trim.

I appreciate your opinion. Just to be sure, do think it should be painted the color of the MAIN body of the house, instead of the Alabaster white trim? It would not give it any contrast. Just wanted to make sure I understood...

I would do the white trim. I like the contrast. And the change in plane seems to call for it.

Thank you both! I just called the painter, to let him know we're keeping white trim. You're right, the contrast is nice. I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

I was hoping you could help (again). I'm not liking the way the garage turned out. We're painting the door SW tricorn black. The garage door blends in too much with the main color (SW Irish Cream). If I could do this all over, I would've used a darker main color, but it's too late. I was thinking of painting the GARAGE and DOOR either SW Urbane Bronze or maybe SW Peppercorn? I'm not happy with the house. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

I think I'm better at looking at colors after they're on than before! I think your garage looks fine, but it depends on what you want to highlight. If you paint it dark, you'll be calling attention to it - your garage will be the first thing people see when they look at your house. If that's what you want, go for it - but I think the turret is the highlight and I wouldn't want to detract from that. Also consider which way it's facing - if it's south the sun will beat it up if it's a dark color and you'll probably need to paint it every few years. You could also try painting it the same as the rest of the house? That's a little tougher since there's no trim but it could work. BTW I think the color you painted is much better than the old, so don't stress.

Good point. I think I'll wait until we see it in person in a few weeks. When I see it all together it will make sense. I'm looking at the house in sections rather than considering it all together, and didn't consider the turret in the equation. I thought about painting it the main body color also. Thanks for the help. It does get a lot of sun, so that is also something to consider. You're spot on again! Much appreciated.

Denise, I love the house color you chose! The dark gray looked out of place, heavy, and so wrong. I’m with anj_p, I’d only consider painting the garage to match the main body color, not dark. The garage door itself is plain and making it a highlight won’t do it any favors.

Thank you! I've been second guessing myself on the main color and wondering if I went too light. I think I had PTSD from the gray, lol. :) But, my nerves are calmed a bit. Being so far way and picking a color was a bit stressful, so you're assurance means a lot!! I was thinking of sizing up on the light fixtures. On either side of the garage, and the main body. They seem a bit too small to me?

I'm grateful for this site, it's helped me so much throughout the process. And, seems everyone has a great perspective and advice makes a lot of sense.
