Take a better picture of that flower? bed and the rest of the house then perhaps can receive some assistance. Since you are a year way from selling you can start by having the slightly overgrown shrubs and lawn maintained. What is up with the windows with only one shutter?

There are some clever people here who can do mockups for the landscaping.

The upper window on the right is much too wide for shutters. Each shutter should be half the window's width. Black would work for the door, but I like the white. Consider an updated door with glass panes across the top that mimic your windows. Something similar to the glass in this door...

I would remove the shutters. The double windows are not right for shutters and the ones on the other windows are too narrow. If you got right sized ones they would touch each other.

I think your house would look better with grayed trim color, like Benjamin Moore's Thunder. Lush would be a good color for the front door in a glossy finish. Both colors are a warm compliment to the pick of the brick. I would get a traditional front door. The one you have now leans Victorian.

As far as landscaping, I would look for some good ornamental trees. One of my favorites is Redbud. I would plant it in the yard between the two windows on the left.

Agree with houssaon about removing the shutters.

Keep the white fascia and trim and porch posts.

Do you have a favorite bold color that you might want for your front entry door color rather than white? If so, you might also consider painting your white porch chair(s) that same color.

You could add a post with a solar light and brackets for a pair of hanging baskets centered in front of the windows to the right beside your porch. You could add some plants around the post that will climb the post and provide colorful blooms.

You might add a plain concrete bird bath to your yard. You could create a walkway to the bird bath with pavers with grass in between the pavers.

With the dark roof, if you replace the shutter rather than remove them. replace them with more black shutters.

Whatever that is in the bottom right corner of the second pic -- ?big rocks flower bed? -- find a way to make that flat area with a large paver in the center and add your bird bath there. Then you could add Liriope or something similar around the outer perimeter of your "garden".

Know where any utilities are buried before you dig -- even to plant a large tree.

See if you can trim most of the plants/shrubs in each row beside your house to be the same height -- especially those on the right side of your house. On the left side of the house beside the sidewalk, you might trim the very tallest few but do fertilize (Miracle Grow) the smaller ones on the left so you can get them to grow with the objective of having that row all the same height (or as close to it as possible).

Would add a spacious landing, the full width of the opening, at the base of the stoop.

Stand about 20-25' away, in line with door, and take a series of slightly overlapping photos that pan from left to right while you stand at one spot, pivoting. Include extra surrounding side-yard space at each end of the house.

Remove the shutters and get a front door that is not victorian. IMO a walkway from the street is always a nice look and provides some extra room for landscaping along it. I would do nice foundation plantings along the front lose the low bushes add some color to the chairs and plant a tree.
