I plan to change the kitchen cabinets at some point to white

You have a lovely new home with beautiful wood floors and cabinetry. And nice beige-ish tile in the bathroom. Introducing grey into this pretty home is going to be tricky.

I find it's hard to pick colors from a picture or screen. There are sites/apps that let you input a picture and try different colors on the walls, which I like for generally picking a color family. For picking the exact color, though, I always like samples painted on cardboard/poster board in the actual space. For example, I'm assuming the wood floors are all the same, but the comes off a bit differently in the different pictures.

I do agree with little bug, though; the existing wood and tile seem to be warm, so greys may be a bit challenging.

Are you trying to pick one color for all of these rooms? The bathrooms in particular do not lend themselves to grey.

@littlebug and @blueberrybundtcake, thank you for your response. always dreamed of gray walls but at the same time don't want the house looking ugly 😕 the wood floors are all the same.

@blueberrybundtcake: what app do you use to test our colors in a room?

I am also trying to pick one color for all but at this point, if gray will be challenging, I am open to suggestions but no white. I can do a mix of colors too. will blue accent wall work in the bedroom for example.

Benjamin Moore has an app called Color Portfolio. I like Benjamin Moore paints personally.

So are blues your preference? What colors are in your other furniture, rugs, and linens?

thanks! will download the apps. #2 preference is blue....currently, my apartment is bare....so I will essentially be purchasing new items outside of my bed set and bed set is espresso. so I am a blank slate but I want a contemporary look

I would go with a more greige color like SW agreeable gray.

How fun it would be to start out fresh like you’re going to do. Enjoy the process.

Some kind of warm gray would be nice

or some taupe (brown/yellow hue)

Even blue/gray would work

You might be happier with a greige that works with the bathroom tile and the rest of the spaces.

I would choose major furniture pieces first, rug(s) ec. then paint. Otherwise, you may regret your paint choice.
