No, as you see plants change according to the conditions they're growing in. Your Sedum rupestre 'Angelina' grows fine in both situations, but it colours up more in increased sun. Nothing wrong with your growing or your plants.

There’s a wide range of conditions Angelina will tolerate. Right now, I have the one in front of my house with only morning and afternoon sun looking like a sedum lemon coral - bright, lush chartreuse foliage. Then I have the ones on the south side which is always thirsty and hot (dry sandy bed with 8+ hours of direct unfiltered sunlight) would have the autumn colors ranging from golden yellow to orange/red. Meanwhile an area in my south facing yard which gets water from the sprinklers daily and sita in very organic soil looks always full and yellow. Despite the radical difference in their appearance, they’re all healthy in my opinion.
