For sure, widen the drive so that there is an unobstructed path to the entrance. Widen the walk especially at the garage corner so if two people using at same time, it does not feel confined.

It's dark and gloomy. Remove any low tree limbs that obstruct the view too much or that make the tree seem more lopsided and unbalanced. Grass under the tree probably struggles to grow. Eliminate it and convert to a low groundcover whose bed shape acknowledges the tree as the kingpin element.

Minimize the shrubs below the window but expand the bed depth so they have space to grow forward and rounded (semi-circular). Reshape them to dome shaped as opposed to a rectangular block. Plant something that contrasts sharply (perennial or shrub) around the house corner. Add shade tolerant annuals next to the entrance.
