    Hi Christina, thank you for your question. Copper was used for the gutters on this home so we could maintain the authenticity of the old world/Tuscan style. Back when this original style was first built, aluminum wasn't available. Copper was one of the only metals out there that was available which wouldn't corrode over time with so much exposure to the elements. Currently using copper is a bit cost prohibitive due to the commodity cost and in most cases aluminum gutters are cheap and so are prevalent and function fine but you sure can't beat the look of real copper on a home like this.
