Building a Home Other Design Dilemma

Extreme stuck on tape. How the heck do I get it off!?

I had put regular masking tape down over my weather striping part of the door to protect it during construction. Throughout the process of the sun beating on it, etc it will NOT come off now that I need the tape off. I tried all types of goo gone products to not avail. Help!!! How do I get this caked on tape off!?

Have you tried soaking it with WD-40? Let it sit for a bit before scrubbing.

Replace the weatherstripping.

Presuming it’s a modern door it will be much faster to pull the weatherstripping and replace. It just slips in a kerf. In the future if you are painting just pull the weatherstripping out completely and store somewhere safe.

If that's the extreme tape I'm thinking of, you cannot remove it from a delicate surface without damage. Replace the weatherstripping.
