That's a really nice set.

The bed just looks like a fullsize headboard with 2 nightstands tucked next to it to make it bigger--it would be a little sad to break up the set. Maybe you can stash it somewhere. Headboards with storage like that are good in guest rooms.

ETA, on second thought, I think the nightstands are floating and should be attached to the bed--they just over-mattressed it.

John Stuart was the cheaper brand of John Widdicomb. John Widdicomb made the Widdicomb furniture, but purchased the John Stuart furniture from other makers and put the john Stuart brand on them. You had to buy it through a decorator. I have some John Stuart bedroom furniture that is more than 50 years old and is in great shape. I found the dresser I own listed on 1st dibs, where the asking price is $5400, so I'd say that the furniture has more than held its value. I don't remember how much it cost originally, maybe as much as $1000, but probably less.

Well, I probably will not be buying them if they are that expensive. I hope I don't regret not buying if it is expensive. Maybe I will talk myself into it. I fell in love with the photo, though I have no idea what they will look like in person. I didn't even know I like MCM, but these really speak to me. I moved into my loft condo apartment 6 years ago and have been slowly furnishing it to my taste and type of apartment. I am trying to replace hand me downs, and some inherited items. I prefer to buy preowned for a variety of reasons. I thought I had more traditional taste. However, I think I like well made items across the spectrum of styles. Luckily I am old enough not to care if it is not all from the same style. If it makes me happy and I think it looks good together I don't worry about the decorator police.
