Design Question - Exterior French Doors

We have a set of exterior French doors leading to the deck in the back of our living room. They are located between two built in book shelves. I think they are beautiful and let in a ton of natural light; but, we NEVER use them. I’d rather people use a different entrance to avoid tracking dirt and mud directly on our living room rug. We are finally getting around to updating the LR and I have a design question - can I treat these doors as a wall and place furniture in front of them? I was thinking of removing the door handle and capping it (to make it flush) and putting a small settee in front of them. Overall objective is to make a conversation area there with two accent chairs flanking the settee. However, I’m not sure if this set up would be a design “no-no.” Any feedback is appreciated!
