You could do slipcovers.

For color, you can go any number of ways, depends on your preferences. You could take this opportunity to bring in some interesting color(s)/combinations.

So the idea is - if you can offer some idea of what color you might be interested in for the sofa, that could be a good starting point for shopping a rug for you.

Or - you could find a rug that you like and be inspired from there for sofa color, etc.

I’m glad you found some colors and styles you like. Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact sofa selections in these, but I can guesstimate and/or find similar.

Love the idea of a green sofa! If you are looking for virtually indestructible rugs for mountain/outdoor living, I personally love an oriental/Moroccan rug! We bought our vintage wool oriental over 25 years ago (and who knows how old it was at that time!) - the pattern hides dirt (until you have time to vacuum), and the rug has held up well over the years to daily, high traffic from dogs, cats, and a rambunctious boy. Any wear and tear adds to the beauty of the vintage look.

I agree w/Lauren Hill, in terms of the Oriental/PersianMoroccan type rugs being good choices for resilience with traffic, etc. Beautiful, also. And could work well with the style and fabrication of green sofa. That was also the direction I was going with rugs I posted with charcoal sofas, above.

So as I mentioned above - definitely an option to go neutral and simple w/rug, and bring additional texture and/or color in with a couple of pillows, a plant, etc. It works. You don’t have to do much. The sofa is already fabulous.. You could keep it very simple, or go with more color, etc.

@freedomplace1 The green sofa is in! I am

in LOVE. However, the room is quite empty without the giant white sectional so I may get a matching loveseat or same exact couch to run perpendicular. My partner has vetoed my arch lamp lol he says it’s too ”grandmas house” so I’ll get a tripod instead.

Also, I’m looking for ways to modernize the space a bit more. It’s definitely pulling off the mid century look right now which I like but may need to counter balance it. I’m thinking a gallery wall behind the couch. All the hardware in our house is brushed nickel so if I get tripod lamp, maybe best in that color—which I think will help modernize as well. I got a credenza similar to the one you posted, but lighter. That’s behind the kitchen table.

Really like the credenza. In regards to a collage, if you search on Pinterest collage over couch, you’ll see lots of examples but also helpful suggestions on different ways to lay out.

Love the green sofa! For future pieces try to avoid match-matchy and instead choose complementary textures and elements for a more curated look. That is the hardest part for me in decorating but I have learned. Maureen has got you on a great start by creating a mood board. Take a daylight picture of your new sofa and the pics of your new tables and then start adding the other elements you like. It will be pretty clear when everything is nest to each other what works and doesn't. I just used a word doc.
