Pictures? What type of finish?

I am not sure of the finish. This occurred in August of 2019, but my husband has been ill and I did not do anything about it. The finish bubbled under the handle and on section near handle. This did not occur anywhere else. A current picture would not show the bubbling, as it peeled off. I hope this helps. I appreciate any help.

I wanted to send current pictures of area. One picture shows additional bubbling that I did not see without the camera. The other shows where finish peeled off. It does not look as bad in person as it does in photo. Please excuse the spelling typo in heading _ should have been peeling :). I appreciate any help you might provide.

Is there a fix that is simpler than having the cupboards refinished ?

What did you end up doing with this? my schrock cabinets are doing the same thing.
