BM Light Pewter with Revere Pewter?

Hi! Can someone tell me (please!) if these two colors work well together as far as undertones, etc? Thank you!

IMO the easiest is to stay on the same color card if you want similar tones . I am not a lover of Revere Pewter but that is me I see colors with the light pewter that are much nicer IMO

Shoemaker - I thought so too - I loved it in every photo I saw online. However, in my basement with very little natural light it shows as beige! It's completely throwing me off. The Light Pewter is perfect however its too light.

You could darken it? Im so sorry.

    Not a bad idea!

If you own your home, could you have some overhead lights installed? Canned lighting?

You can find alternative colours which are somewhat similar to Light Pewter, but darker.

They would need careful sampling in your space, as low Chroma colours from this Hue Family neighbourhood are prone to shift colour in imbalanced light. It doesn’t happen in every room, but it may and you want to be assured how it renders in your space.

SW 7672 is from a near spot in the Yellow Hue Family to Light Pewter. It’s also 7 points darker and 2 points more greyed.

This looks like it would go GREAT with the Light Pewter. My husband won't use Sherwin Williams though - we did our main level with it and switched to BM Aura half way through because the Sherwin Williams wasn't covering well. It took like 4 coats after primer.

Smoke Embers might be worth a thought. It’s 9 points darker than Light Pewter and approx 1.5 points more greyed. It sits a little further toward the Yellow-Red Hue Family than Light Pewter.

Maybe pull large paint chips before investing in a sample? When you decide which to sample, try 2 coats on fibre board or Paint,Peel,Stick decals rather than straight onto the wall. It will give you more opportunity to see them in varying light and angles. It can sometimes be in the darker points of the room you may notice more colour variance & this isn’t usually the spot we choose for our samples.

    I see brown/green undertones in Revere Pewter;

I see gray/brown undertones in Light Pewter

Revere Pewter is a beautiful wall color. However, like any paint color, it will be affected by natural light. I have it in my living room/dining, which get east, north and south light and it Is perfect thought the day. You have very little natural light in the basement room, so going light isn’t always the answer.

If you have a dark room where you need to have lights on all the time, do something deeper which works with the lighting you have. My experience is darker makes a space look bigger because the corner shadows aren’t as obvious.

JudyG Designs Thank you that is great advice. The only issue is the basement is dark now and when we decided to paint we all decided we wanted to lighten it up. I will definitely take this into consideration though and your time and expertise is appreciated!

Question please - how do I find out which color is a few shades lighter than Light Pewter (for the ceiling). Light Pewter is at the top of the color chip swatch as the lightest.

Similar in terms of Hue Family location, quantity of Chroma, (colourfulness), only 5 points lighter is Barely There by BM.

You can have Light Pewter cut 25% for the ceiling.

Something to add…you can/t lighten a windowless room, but you can brighten it. I like a bright colors.

I do have an idea…floor lights. Use a light bar on the floor. hidden behind furniture.

I just repainted 5 out of my 6 walls (one is an accent wall in a different color) in Light Pewter and absolutely love it!
