What size mirror/medicine cabinet to I need for a 24 inch sink?

I am turning a closet into a small 8 x 6 bathroom. It will be used by guests and occasionally by my husbands college age children. I was thinking that a medicine cabinet something narrow and tall would be best for extra storage but not sure that it is the correct shape and not sure the appropriate size for that narrow sink. Is rectangle the best option? The walls will have white 3 x 10 inch tile not sure of the best layout yet , and floor may have basketweave still deciding. I am using a kohler purist wall mount faucet, ordered the lights shown below, and the sink is the Duravit scola shown in the last photo (not my bathroom) . Beginning to second guess every decision.

IMO get proper lighting not Edison bulbs anywhere in a home unless you just love that yellow hue over everything and it sure does not work with the Purist hardware IMO the light you show in the inspo pic is one of my faves for bathrooms and as for medicine cabinet a simple wall mounted with a mirror the width of the whole counter . Tile IMO a stacked pattern to keep it all simple . FYI I like 12 x24 floor tile porcelain and the same tile on the shower walls again to keep it simple .I assume this space has atub/ shower then look at glass shower screens too.

Patricia, Do you think the light style shown would work with a different bulb or do I need a totally different light. I was planning to do the tub/shower in a 3 x 10 white tile and was considering stacking them. Would you do a larger 12 x 24 on the floor? I am planning to use the tile below in the master what do you think of using it in this bath as well?

I would use the same as long as the master works with the master bedroom since those rooms need to be connected style and color wise and IMO so does this bathroom need to connect to the guest bedroom. The light has a bit of industrial vibe is than what you are working on? I for sure would change the bulb but I really do not think there is enogh light to work in a bathroom

Patricia thanks again for your input. I now see that I was going in the wrong direction and have found a new inspiration picture which I think goes better with the sink style and not planning to use that sconce nor the basket weave floor tile. Thinking of trying a terrazzo look porcelain tile.

Would any of these lights work better with the sink and tile

I still think the light in the inspo pic is abetter choice since in a small space you need good overall lighting with no shadows. I think the fewr tiles sizes ansd patterns the better in small bathrooms it gives the illusion of space and the bonus is fewr grout lines in a shower with 12 x24 tile same as the floor. Keep it simple is my advice. IMO terrazzo floor look works best in a MCM space.

I did find a 12 x 24 inch tile . Any idea where I could find a mirror that lights up like the inspiration photo?

Google “back lit bathroom mirror” and you will find lots of them available online.

You can buy a mirrored medicine cabinet that has integrated LED lighting, which can also offer a nightlight with dinner function. So, you will not only have lighting from your main bathroom, but an additional light source. As for size, you can also get customized sizing where cabinets can be ganged together. Two 12 inch cabinets ganged together or two 15" ganged together would work where you can add lighting as an option and have interchangeable left or right open doors. It gives you alot of storage over your vanity without looking too wide. And if you want to spend the extra cost, you can have them recessed mounted as well. This will make them look flush with wall and less bulky over your smaller vanity. I hope this helps.
