Linear fireplace and TV
Comments (1)As long as your fireplace vents directly out the side and not up through a chimney then there should be no issue with hanging a TV above the fireplace....See MoreTV over fireplace - size advice
Comments (3)So how do you plan to have the mantle lowered? My understanding of mantles is that they sit on top of the brick, especially in a situation like yours. Will you remove a couple of rows or brick? Are you having this custom built?...See MoreHelp with tv size over fireplace
Comments (15)Anne's idea of removing the mantle is good advice, since you wouldn't be able to put anything on it anyway, because that would obstruct the view on the TV. If a large TV is important to you and you watch enough of it, than it is not uncommon for people to hang a TV that is larger than the fireplace. But although many people have TV screens that are bigger than their fireplace, they usually have a bigger wall of stone too. In your case you do not have much extra space. So indeed, that might look a bit too 'heavy'. What I would do in your case is to cut out two pieces of cardboard and make them black, one in each size of the TV. So you can see for yourself if a bigger one is okay for you on this particular spot....See MoreMInimum clearance for TV above linear gas fireplace

Next best is the TV beside the FP I have no idea about your floor plan so maybe share that.Keep in mind linear fireplaces are a contemporary style so if that is your style then these ideas will work to let you have both and the last one a bit more traditional...See Morecaseythm4life
