How to make a transition -paint color?

We have a beautiful open living room ,kitchen ,dining room and office so we trying to get a right color to paint to make it pop and create a flowing transition and we can decide on the right color please help

In our home our living room is a great room which goes into kitchen and down the hall like yours. We painted the exterior walls a pale yellow and interior walls and kitchen soffets a slightly darker shade. We love it. This could be done with any color you chose.
