How should I furnish the rest of my dining room?

Hello! We moved into our house a year ago and between the pandemic and having a new baby we never quite finished furnishing our dining room. We currently have a table and a little bar that I inherited from my grandmother, but no chairs (the ones in the photo are temporary) and nothing else. I would love to get peoples thoughts on chairs, a china cabinet to go against the back wall, and a side board. I’m looking for the room to be classic but modern (no grandmotherly china cabinets). it’s been too hard to get out to stores to actually look at things! thank you! And please ignore the mess-the 7 week old has taken over the whole house!

Congrats on the new baby! Are you open to painting this room and if so what colors do you like and have going elsewhere.

I think a sideboard and china cabinet would be too much in your room.

thank you @jck910! what about a bookshelf along the back wall instead of a china cabinet-something like these? or would that be too much?

I would get a sideboard for the back wall with a nice piece of art over it. Get your chairs and then re-evaluate the space to see if you have room for/need another piece. The sideboards & chairs are crate and barrel.

For art look at minted.com bigcanvas,com etsy.com Make sure the art is at least 2/3 the width of the piece of furniture under it
