We just started the demo of our basement and aren’t sure how to wrap two of our support posts. We went in with a plan but discovered that one of the posts is in a different position than we were expecting (there had previously been walls and closets up). The two posts in question are circled in photos 1 and 3. They’re only about a foot apart in one direction but about 1.5 feet apart in the other direction. Do we wrap them together to make a giant column? Wrap them separately and just have them be awkwardly close together? They’re sitting in the middle of our open Rec room. FWIW, there’s another post about 5 feet away in either direction, each align with one of these two posts. Suggestions and photos of ideas would be much appreciated.
