Ideas to firm up couch seat cushions?

I bought the wrong furniture. We were moving and needed something in a hurry, and I liked the looks and feel in the store, but I noticed right away when we'd sit the cushion seemed to sink more than it should. So I called the store and they came out and replaced the foam inserts. (These are removable couch cushions). But they still are too saggy for me. It's just the way the couch is. It's extra deep which I think is not helping matters.

So I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how I can feel a little less like I'm going to sink down to the floor when I sit. My first thought is just to put boards or some kind of hard foam underneath and that may be easiest and cheapest option until I can afford to get a new set (unfortunately I got the couch, loveseat and chair) but I just wondered if anyone had any other ideas.
