The rose I take the most cuttings from is Marie Pavie. I once had rooted a dozen cuttings at once. Marie is an easy growing rose even here. She can produce an impressive first flush, with wafting fragrance on a compact growing plant (there's always room for one more). She blooms more or less constantly through the summer, even through the heat. She can grow in shade. She is easy to grow from cuttings. I grew that many cuttings because I was going to fill my garden with this one rose. Then I decided that I wanted to try many other roses, so I gave the cuttings of Marie Pavie away. I probably take a cutting or two off my plant every year, just for the fun of growing it. I give them away. I have four of them in my yard right now.

Others that I grow frequently from cuttings are: Iceberg, Abraham Darby (this should be off patent since he is from 1985). Growing roses (and many plants) from cuttings is such a joy, isn't it?

Keep in mind that propagating a rose that is on patent, is illegal.

My Pinocchio. It's over 60 years old and was my Mother's. If I lost it I would be heart broken. It's also very rare and hard to find. I've done 3 cuttings. Only one has still survived. I'd like to do more but both the mother plant and the cutting are very mall and need to grow a bit more before I cut either of them.
