You can hang 2 sets of drapes both from the same height but able to open separately .Or you can do darpes on the patio door and roman shade on the window both in the same fabric. Makw sure the drapes are at least 2 x and better 2.5 times wider than the rod you choose

This seems to be a situation where curtains are not needed or even possible....i would look at alternative ways to make the wall more interesting...perhaps paint it a pretty color...add some art where there is space......or make the view prettier...if that is a fence in the back ...paint it a pretty color and even add some greenery and flower pots for annuals?..

A valance over the windows that matches the door height ....with a pull down decorative shade could work to balance the look and add some detail without interfering with the furniture next to the wall...

Patricia what do you mean by 2x wider than rod?! So it would look fuller?
