Window Treatment Ideas for Kitchen/Dining Bay Window Area?

Hi! My kitchen and dining area features a lovely bay window overlooking the yard. I want to soften the area, since it has almost no framework, but I'm at a crossroads as to what to do. My first instinct was a bay window curtain system that fits inside, as it would be space efficient. I've also considered doing a standard rod on the outside just to frame the area, but I feel like that will clutter the right wall since there isn't much of it available.

My kitchen table is in front of the window, so it's the big feature of the kitchen upon entering. Also, because of the table, I'm wanting to keep the treatments light. Maybe sheer panels inside, and solid panels on the outside? All sheer? My goal is to soften the area while showcasing the yard. I've been ruminating on this forever because I don't want to install a rod, only to regret it. I'd greatly appreciate input as to what would flatter the space best?

I hadn't really considered those before, and I'd have to agree with the roman shades. Thank you!

I would do roman shades, or blinds, inside of each of the three window sections.

My suggestion before seeing the comment above is roman shades. I would hang them above the window. You can also put them on the door

Panels won't really soften the window as they would be hung outside the window

Do you need privacy? My friend use top down/bottom up shades because she wanted to control the view, her privacy and the light that floods her breakfast area.

Not so much in this area. Our yard has a privacy fence around it, and I want that to be the focus. The curtains would be for looks, mostly.

Shades on the windows and panels on a rod outside the bay. These are more full and formal than you probably want, but for concept...

Suggest blinds as well and have you considered taking advantage of this lovely window by setting up with your dining set. This will also provide better flow to the outside

Have you thought about bottom up top down pleated blinds or honeycomb shades? Minimal in design and able to install as inside mount to a shallow depth of only 1/2 inch. Here are some client pictures and how they solved their bay window challenge.
