Nicely tell your KD that you appreciate his thoughts on the matter and you will go ahead with frameless. If he does not SELL frameless, well, there ya go.

(Framed cabinets can be indistinguishable from framed though--it just depends on how the doors are sized. Once you open them up, though, the frameless cabinets will have more accessible space, especially the drawers.)

My guess is he doesn't sell frameless. We tried a KD, and when I said I wanted frameless, he was very taken aback because none of his lines were frameless. He tried in vain to find a line of frameless that had I look I liked.

My 1990’s kitchen has Frameless cabinets and I had no idea how awesome that was until I replaced the master bath cabinets with full overlay framed cabinets. The loss of usable cabinet space blew my mind. I agree they look similar when all the doors/drawers are closed - but the loss of space is just not something I would ever give up in a kitchen. I am remodeling my kitchen due to a water leak and I will only look at frameless for the replacement.

I agree with @Julieste that this KD doesn't sell frameless. Often the smaller shops don't sell frameless because it requires equipment that the long-time framed cabinet shops don't have and don't want to spend the money on.

I hear what you are saying about the look and not wanting to see the reveal. But there is an even better reason to choose frameless--the added interior room as compared to framed. You lose about 1-1/2" in each drawer and in the uppers with framed and that will make a difference in how much you can put in your cabinetry.

I would find another KD. This one seems out of touch.
