Thanks for the question (and the compliment!). It's a bit hard to see from the angle of the camera due to the reflection, but for the island countertop (the upper portion), it is actually a custom fabricated brushed stainless steel countertop. They did use a black granite on the countertops for the cabinets next to the range and on the lower portion of the island. I am not sure exactly what the name of the granite was called.
