Looking for the right shrub adjacent to entrance

Hey folks, I am making some changes to my front entrance area. Moving some smaller shrubs into place from the backyard after having removed some ugly juniper and mounding white cedars. I need a shrub that grows between 6' 10' and nor more than 7' or so wide (this would be ultimate maximum dimensions.. something smaller is fine.. this would be located adjacent to my entrance and would receive all day sun.. spot is well drain and dry (but watering occasionally isn't an issue). Currently there is a silver variegated dogwood that is seen better days.. it's bee in slow decline for a few years now.

I have an open mind and I've considered a lot of different options, from Azalea to Okaleaf hydrangea

I'm Z5 and the spit is somewhat shelter from cold NW winter wind..
