Which quartz do I do?! LG Muse or Calacatta Gold?

Hi! Currently in a dilemma.. I am trying to decide between the LG Muse or Calacatta Gold. I am doing Stone Waypoint Shaker cabinets (650F) and black hardware/pulls. I have a smaller L shaped kitchen, about 12'x 10 with stainless steel appliances. Attaching the pictures below of the options

I like the modern lines of calacatta gold and the clean look. Not a fan of the small brown lines, but I do have warmer dark floors so I figure this is fine and its barely noticeable. But I also like seeing the install pictures of Muse, as it looks kind of timeless and could go with the next buyers style. I will be here about 3 years and these are both at the same price range so I am stuck! Any help is greatly appreciated! Pictures of it installed would help as well.

I like the second picture best! The larger "streak lines" with that grayish tone inside really pulls the gray cabinets! I think it would accent any brown flooring beautifully!

I really like the look of both, but I think #2 looks better, at least in the photo!

there are many opinions on the performance of manmade quartz, so keep an eye out for that-- such as some types may yellow from chemical or UV exposure (due to the acrylic content). that may influence your decision.

What does your backsplash look like?

I have not picked that yet! I have ordered a ton of samples but I want to wait until its installed to get the exact look. Everywhere I have brought my cabinet sample and even some of the quartz samples, it looks completely different. I am having a hard time visualizing.

I ended up going with the calacatta gold despite the majority of my friends loving the Muse. I originally wanted Classic Calacatta but the price tag went up significantly and Calacatta Gold is very similar and over a thousand dollars cheaper. I wanted the modern look and clean bright lines. Where I feel the Muse pulled a lot of gray, even in the base.

I was curious about the backsplash, because in your pics, the first one looks a bit “warmer” or “creamier”. I personally love that. I felt like I was in the lone choice of Calacatta. Good luck with your backsplash. Post pics when done, I’ll bet it looks great.

Thank you! I will. I am getting a lot of calacatta marble mosaics in hexagons, herringbones in different shades to pull both cool and warm tones while keeping everything bright. If that doesn't look good or there is too much going on I may be stuck doing a traditional subway.

We just had our LG Muse installed today. We also have light gray cabinets. (They were cherry, spent the summer sanding, sanding, sanding.) The kitchen isn't done (still need to hang floating shelves and put some subway tile in.... but, I LOVE the quartz. It took me a long time to pick out this quartz, and in the end, I liked the brightness and the subtlety-- I don't feel like it will become dated looking. I don't think I got many close ups, but here is a pic I took after install.

Olivia, I hadn't read your update as of 9 hours ago. I see you went with Calacatta Gold. I saw this quartz this summer and thought it was very pretty. Because I love brass, I especially liked the flecks of gold. It was certainly a contender when I went through the process of picking quartz. I think it will be lovely!

Thank you, Anna! I don't think I would have gone wrong with either. You're kitchen is gorgeous!

Anna - your kitchen is just beautiful and I love the Muse quartz! My current kitchen is dark on dark. I am also refinishing my cabinets and changing doors and door front to shaker style. What color gray did you paint your cabinets? I’m considering a light gray like you - SW Repose Gray or Mindful Gray. I’m deciding on counters and you’ve sold me on Muse.

HU- Thank you. We used repose gray- but used Benjamin Moore Advance paint. I will go ahead and post a before and after kitchen post and can post more close ups of the counters.

Can not go wrong with the gold..smile

It warms up your neutral grey palette.
