Post a to scale floor plan showing all doorways, windows closets pictures really do not give enough info. What is your style, how many people need seating and table space usually . Is it nessessary to have an actual desk? We need info and the floor plan

Thanks Patricia, I added a floor plan. I have a transitional style. For table space we are 4, but I was thinking that I can get a table that opens to fit 6-8. Not necessary to have a desk, more of a work area, as we are working from home now.

My design capabilities are poor, but I’d favor swapping your room labels. Make your living room the dining room and vice versa. Put your dining room table closer to the kitchen and it’ll give a space for the TV on the wall in the new living room.

Thanks Tony, I've considered that, what about the fireplace though? It will be in the dining room, might seem a bit weird.
