Appreciate the condolences. Thankfully the installer was actually very apologetic and will be replacing it. I know MSI isn't top of the line or anything, but I hope this doesn't bode poorly for how it'll hold up....

I'd try some acetone before replacing the top.

It shouldn't need to be replaced. A stain that is darker in color typically indicates a residue on the surface. Surface residues simply need to find the right cleaner to remove them. My first questions would be:

What are the recommended cleaners?

What have you used?

What were the results?

Typically a bleach based cleanser removes most household residue issues. In some cases, an industrial type residue can be left behind by installers and/or trade workers, such as silicone residue for example. An industrial residue would require an industrial strength cleaning with solvent based cleaners, where the fabricator should be able to provide this.

On acetone, it doesn't do much for Quartz to be honest, and is better suited for natural stone. Denatured Alcohol would be better, and for your purposes, if a bleach based cleanser does not work, I would try Isopropyl Alcohol above 90% if you end up doing it yourself. Never let the alcohol sit on the surface for a prolonged period of time, however.

When the installer came he tried cleaning it with all sorts of solutions and finally admitted that it was definitely something inside the stone/resin that was causing it. Thankfully they replaced it with no hassle or extra cost.
