Need some advice for end-of-October planting of five Coral Drifts

This Friday I will finally get around to plant 5 Coral Drifts along the driveway.

(Well, someone will do it for me, because it is a tough bed to deal with). I intend to set them as close to the driveway as possible, to position them right outside a tree canpy, for maximum sun.

My question is: should I include amendments and cow manure at this late point in the season?

I want them planted in good soil, not just stuck into this hard GA clay, but I am afraid I will fertilize them too much before winter.

Do you have any other recommendations for a good fall planting?

Thank you so much!
