If you like the color on the wall behind it and want that to show through, leave the rack open in the back. But be sure you really, really liike and will for.ev.er. because it's going to be really darn difficult to change the color after the cabinet is on the wall.

you may need the extra depth (from grid to wall) for the bottles to actually sit in there securely...

Not sure who thought that wine rack design was appropriate. Something of a more simple nature might have been less dated.

Closed. Mostly because there are a lot of attractive elements to your bar. Keep it visually tidy and clean looking, no additional visual clutter.

Ugh, it would make me nuts to have my wines in bins -- I'm always pulling out this one and that one to decide what to open, and they'd all end up rolling and mangled!
