Rather than an interior window treatment, what about awnings? Love the rustic look of the room, and Luminets would look too modern.

I agree the blinds are a bit modern. We are not going rustic with the decor tough. The furnishings in the pics are from the previous owners (listing pics) we have an eclectic mix of decor. The sun is at a pretty steep angle and I am not sure how to make awnings work with the front. We also need to provide some privacy. There is a major trail system on the other side of the driveway. This is the front of the house

The dogs aren't normally here - they belong to our daughter :)

Look at solar shades. You can see through them, but they block the direct sun and are unobtrusive when fully open. They are simple enough to work with any style home.

That’s a good solution. I like the idea of a top down- bottom up blind too. I love to see the blue Colorado sky
