It depends on a number of factors. Where is your laundry room located? If it's near an entryway or in the basement, it can be helpful to have a spot to wash up or rinse off dirty items, but if it's elsewhere (like near bedrooms), it might not be useful for that purpose. Do you have a spot elsewhere to rinse out things like paint brushes and dirty boots? Do you need a spot to soak delicates, scrub stains, or hand wash?

I've lived with and without laundry sinks. My preference is to have one, but you can always find a workaround if space is tight. If you really want a sink, a stackable washer/dryer might make it feasible.
