Modern kitchen color schemes that work with Brazilian cherry floors?

Help! We're looking to remodel our 2006-era (Wenge wood cabinets galore) modern kitchen (see photo from previous owners/listing). We have Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, and we are trying to come up with a color scheme, ideally lighter as the side windows in the photo are on the lot line and will likely disappear at some point. There seems to be a dearth of photo ideas with this color flooring, perhaps for good reason, but we would ideally like to avoid replacing the flooring. We don't want to stain it darker, and I am told staining lighter is very difficult w/this wood, with no guarantees it would come out nicely. Are we stuck with white for our color scheme, or are there others that would work? I like the navy blue but my husband thinks this is too trendy and will look dated in a few years, plus our living room features large modern navy sofas. Any help much appreciated - we are stuck!

I would do high gloss white kitchen with satinless appliances and a black soapstone counter

I agree with June that I wouldn't rip it out, but if you do, you could definitely do something other than white. Black, charcoal, navy or even a lighter grey would look great with those floors.

Thanks all! June & blond, I hear you on leaving it, but the cabinets themselves are pretty beat up (prior owners had young children who, they told us, enjoyed opening and slamming them - lots of chips and peeling veneer). We could reface them, or swap out the fronts. Our appliances are also going - in the last two weeks, our dishwasher and fridge both gave out (we're using a minifridge for now). I'm just so grateful the oven hung on through Thanksgiving! I love these color suggestions - agree contrasting countertop would give it a nice pop.

We have brazilian cherry floors. We will soon be refinishing them, so they will lighten a bit. They were originally finished with bona chemi traffic about 15 years ago. Refinishing your floors and putting a water based sealer on will make them a lot less red. Our floors never got like that.
