Congratulations on the new home! What I will need to help you is the following

    1) Photos of the home

    2) Photos of furniture you want to use in the home (if any)

    3) Photos of the style you like (There are many on Houzz from which to choose).

We can start with photos of the home. Thanks so much.

Agreed that pics are necessary here. But I will probably suggest doing molding and wainscoting, wallpaper....

Nickoke, I’d love to see what suggestions you receive. My new home is ready for painting very soon and am starting with all white walls like you.

Sorry everyone first time posting and missed the photos😉. So here are a few. The one with the tree would typically be the wall where the tv would go (fireplace maybe ?). This the wall all the furniture faces. With the holiday the couch was moved in front to make room for a tree. Our house is quite simple and definitely smaller. That’s the dining room with the play kitchen to the left is patio that leads to the outside. The wall with the Xmas stockings is in the kitchen. The kitchen and dining room is all one big room with the island in between. I will post more pictures in the morning! I’m looking for specific items so links would be awesome !

I think you need some artwork to decorate the walls. Please look at https://www.soa-arts.com/art-solutions/art-for-home-design.html

Keep in mind that tall items in a room -- plants, lamps, furniture -- help to frame and break up spaces. 0

Hi . Thanks for the photos. From what I can see, you have a nice home!

Do not worry about blank walls right now. That can be solved.

I see a lot of posts on here that are "backwards". What does that mean? Design happens in stages. It is important to follow them in the right sequence. Many posts on here jump to the last phase in design, which is painting the walls or adding decor to them.

Giving you tips on walls right now would not be serving you well. It is a waste of time and likely a waste of your money.

    You need in this order:

    1) Inspiration photos. (What kind of room do you like?)

    2) A floor plan. Where to place your furniture so that it functions well and fits well.

    3) Decor comes last.

Looking at these photos below, which one or more appeals to you most? Don't worry about the colors as much as the style. Thanks!

I love the midcentury modern !

Does the top, middle or bottom reflect your style most? Or, if none of them, could you post a photo of a style you like?

Also, we could make your dining table fit into mid-century modern (not exactly, but could fit), but the sofa is not at all. So, I am not sure you are just wanting to make the furniture you have look the best it can be or you are looking at some new furniture?

    Thanks!
