Flooring.... the hardest part. Suggestions and thoughts please.

Hi all - I am doing a nearly complete remodel on a 1997 home I just purchased on the Central Coast of California. (I say nearly complete because I’ve been convinced to keep the existing kitchen cabs, at least the boxes, but everything else is going.) My style is transitional leaning to contemporary.

Flooring is very difficult for me. I built the house I’m in and it was here also. I can’t do two busy patterns so go with very plain flooring and pretty countertops. (I also change things from house to house - here I have Concrete Connection flooring in Steel, espresso cabs, and Alaska white granite in kitchen, carrara marble in baths.)

My plan for my new house is white cabs in the kitchen (may do some color on island), carrara marble looking quartz in kitchen, waterfall island may have complementary quartz (or a porcelain slab I fell in love with), but I’m a bit undecided on that. Paint will be gray/greige neutrals like Repose Gray, Dorian Gray, things like that. 5.25 white baseboards. I’m changing the interior doors from 6 panel to 1 or 2.

The question... what flooring should I use? I‘m leaning heavily to wood-look tile, although I don’t like the grout lines - so definitely rectified. I was initially thinking of a rich brown but have changed to thinking of a bleached white. Will a very light color look washed out with the cabs and countertop? Will the wall colors give enough color to the space? (I have big dogs with big nails, who take a drink of water and then dribble it throughout the kitchen so, despite claims of being waterproof, I’m afraid of LVP, or laminate, thus tile.)

I’m attaching a few pics to give idea of space. These are from realtor so not my stuff. I’m doing remodel before moving. Im open to any and all thoughts and suggestions! Thx!

Was liking this but think it’s too dark.

Paint thoughts.

Like this tile, at least the colors, but think it may be too rustic (?) or patterned for the space. (It is Frenchwood in Larch from Floor and Decor.) I’m also thinking of lighter now.
