I recently found some mirrors and a painting by looking at the websites of my favorite home furnishing stores (that I usually use for just furniture). I was surprised at how many nice (and unique) options they had, without having to go to a gallery.

It depends what you are looking for and what your budget is. I am an interior designer and have found artwork and accessories for clients who want something special whether it is from renowned artists or up and coming artists.

The benefit of hiring a good designer to do it is that they know where to find unique pieces that speaks to you and your aesthetic. Also some designers are able to identify artwork and artists that appreciates in value over time. And these pieces aren’t always expensive.

I’m a believer in finding unique artwork that is not only beautiful, but also tells a story. That way the art isn’t just decoration on a wall or in a room.
