Turn the heat ON - as in ALL THE TIME. The increased HEAT allows the floor to cure much faster than just opening the windows. In fall/winter/early spring things are often DAMP. Outdoors and especially indoors in a home without heat and that is drafty.

The ONE question I have: were all the SOFT COVERINGS removed from the house when the finishing was being done? Like window coverings, sofas, seat cushions, arm chairs, bedding, etc?

Considering that Bona stain is quick drying and that their finishes have very little odor, it sounds unlikely. Was that the only work you had done?

I was wondering the same thing as Timothy. There are many things that 'stink' when doing home improvements.

Is there new paint? Drywall patch?

I had samples made in front of me when we were remodeling, and while the Duraseal stains were quite smelly I didn’t find the Traffic HD to be problematic at all (and I had a 9 month old baby attached to me in a carrier!). It definitely should not be off gassing after so much time?

Thanks, everyone. I have indeed discovered a more likely culprit. Around Thanksgiving someone repaired a small area on a closet door with some oil-based varnish. I think that could still be smelling. I'm concerned about the VOCs we've been breathing from that, even though we don't spend time on that floor - the smell wafts downstairs a bit. I'm thinking of removing that door and storing it elsewhere for. while!
