Well, even though accurate long-range weather forecasts are pretty much in vain, mine shows daytime highs in the 60s most of the time by March, and pretty much steadily increasing from here to there. Of course, the lowest we've seen so far is one night of 17F, and a few 20F nights. It's been a rather mild and uneventful early winter, and I really hope it continues. It's cool enough that most things will get needed chilling in easily enough, but mild enough that winter flowering things weren't covered in ice (but once so far). With maples typically flowering in February and the very first daffodil leaves becoming visible about now, things seem to be on schedule for an early spring?

If thinking spring = catalog orders, I'm with y'all.

Last year was so much of a non-winter I'm kinda hoping for something closer to normal this year. If we don't get a few inches of snow down soon I'm going to start poking around for sprouts already, and it's about two months early for that!

Plus the earliest things start flowering and sprouting now, only to get whacked back in February.
