Silicone baking cups... or cupcake molds whatever they're called

I have a set of silicone baking cupcake "pans."

(It's hard to refer to them as a "pan" because they're so floppy)

I made banana muffins this morning in them. First time to use them and first time to make banana muffins......

Wish I'd known you were supposed to use cooking spray.

Muffins are still tasty, just no bottoms.

This surprises me. Thought that was the point of silicone--no sticking --no oil. I had some but regifted them. The floppy made them more trouble than they were worth for me. I buy parchment paper at the grocery store--worked like a charm.

I bought parchment paper cupcake liners by PaperChef and I really like them. The parchment doesn't stick to the muffins and cupcakes as much as paper liners and you still get browning.

So, some people were told by a repair man to avoid powder because it doesn’t dissolve well in cold water & will build up in the bottom of the drum. Then others were told to avoid liquid detergents because they’ll gum up your machine over time. I have a newer front load set & usually wash colors in cold. I’ve used pods but there was a time or two when they didn’t dissolve correctly & left detergent splotches on my clothes. So I switched to powder. I’m using tide with color safe bleach powder & arm & hammer with oxy powder. While both seem to clean & devolve well, you must make sure to use a lower dosage to compensate for the he machine. Add a second rinse if needed. Lately I’ve been considering trying persil the European detergent that has become available in the USA. It’s always getting high praise from reviewers & wins awards for the best laundry detergent. It comes in liquid or powder I believe.

Both. Remodeled kitchen last year and most of things are now put away! I still have some out for color. I used 1/2 pots from Home Goods and command stripped them to the tile. Used pads on the bottom to keep them from scratching counter top. Moved the knives out of block and into a drawer.

I spend a lot of time creating unique delicious meals that Take time and effort that I find on the Internet. Then I enjoy the meal with my husband who usually loves it. I'll be darned if I'm going to wash the dishes right after the meal. I soak the pans and usually wash the dishes the next morning but don't go ballistic if I don't. I'd rather enjoy the rest of the evening with my husband than walk into a spanking clean kitchen!

I like Method. I use the hand soap, all purpose cleaner and bathroom cleaner. Gave up on Bounce years ago when I discovered that it made me itch like crazy. I can't breath with Fantastic. 401 is much better for me, but I only use that on heavily greasy items because Method failed. I am sensitive to certain perfumes. Back in the '70's I loved Charlie perfume, until I realized that it was making me hyperventilate. These days, I almost never wear perfume (I mean one or two nights a year, and it's very light) because so many people are allergic to the scents. Only use deodorant and Johnson's Baby Powder (non-talc) the rest of the time. Since getting granite counter tops for the first time ever, will switch to a spray bottle filled with water and a few drops of Dawn.

I use silicone molds for chocolate bombs. They have to be spotlessly clean or the chocolate will stick. At least with chocolate.

That's what I thought as well!!

I've used them a few times for making egg 'muffins' to freeze & grab on the way out the door for work. And I've not had to spray for that.

Fortunately, they do clean up easily. I detest my metal muffin tins. They're a pain to clean with out cupcake liners.

I have used silicone cupcake baking cups and I do seem to recall spraying them. I was given some silicone baking sheets and haven’t used them yet, but for some reason I thought I didn’t have to spray those. Maybe I will, just in case. Parchment is so easy.

I have silicone muffin cups. They don't stick. I don't oil them but my muffin recipes do have oil or butter in them. I have no idea what brand they are.

Outside, I use silicone sheet liners without an issue, and have never greased them.

I also use one under my cutting boards to keep them immovable.

Put me firmly in the camp of only using metal tins and no liners. They have to be well sprayed and when they start to get a bit old, I use non stick, new ones are necessary. But they brown and I hate cupcake liners!

I've made carrot muffins a bit recently and they are somewhat low fat but pop out beautifully.
