It looks unfinished to me...I think it needs molding. Try Fori's suggestion and see how you like it.

Oh that would drive me crazy, ha! Would definitely have the 1/4 round redone to finish off that area properly so it is a seamless finish with 1/4 round joints properly fitted there.

It needs to have the trim next to it matched for that space who ever did the install should have finished the job.

IMO, it does look odd. I would have treated those small areas like the rest of the walls and continued the baseboard and quarter round to those walls. It looks unfinished and disjointed.

Whatever you use for the baseboard should be continued around the corner to the cabinet.

The baseboard and 1/4 round, with mitered corners, should continue around the corner to meet the cabinet, as everyone else has said. Is that white vertical line on each side of the doorway the edge of painted exposed sheet rock? How will that be finished?

The white line is schluter to finish off the edge of the tile.

Sure looks like it from here. A cap or corner bead might be effective. Or simply, layers of compound so it at least looks smooth.

I think those photos show the cut rough edge of the baseboard and not the drywall. The camera angle needs to be moved up a few tiles to see the drywall.

I think chispa is correct that the raw looking edge is part of the baseboard molding, not drywall. It is still incorrectly finished.

If that is a floating floor, be sure that there is room to "move" between the quarter round and floor. Probably molding and quarter round like your doors would look best but would be hard to do, Maybe just quarter round would be enough.

Thanks everyone, I have caulked the crack. That way the wood floor can expand and contract and baseboard trim nails won’t crack the tile.

You could have glued the trim to the tile.

Add baseboard, it looks unfinished without it there.
