Decorative Trim / Tile to Cover Gap from Range Hood Replacement?

Hello everyone!

I just installed a new range hood in my kitchen to replace an old one that had was no longer working. The chimney on the old hood was a few inches wider than the the replacement and the previous homeowner had not installed tile backing behind the hood so now there is a gap on both sides from the wall and the chimney (due to the uneven backsplash as well as a gap on either side of the chimeny.

I'm looking for some creative ideas on something that I could add on either side of the chimney to cover up these gaps. I was contemplating get some peel and stick tile to creative somewhat of an accent border but not sure whether just draw more unnecessary attention to the area.

PS - I know I still need to remove the blue film!

Oh gosh!! I guess first try to get the same tile and fill it in. Otherwise a boarder will be ok. Very pretty tiles btw I rlly like them. So timeless

Thanks for the response! I can't find the same tiles so I had ruled that out as an option. I could theoretically try to pull tile pieces from the area that is covered by the hood and recut them to size but I'm not sure how practical it would be to reuse tiles (and whether I can even get them off without breaking them).

Appreciate the compliments on the tiles. I've been slowing making appliance upgrades to the kitchen and will be here in a few weeks with full kitchen photos to get people's thoughts on what else could be improved.

I hear you. What Are the different tiles in middle. Maybe we can do an accent just by the vent. I’m excited to see and be able to weigh in on the rest of the space. Looking forward

In this case you may be best looking for a larger, complimentary tile inset vs random individual insets due to not equal spacing or how about a piece of stainless behind the entire vent?
