I think if the lines make a bold geometric design it could be ok if the result is that it emphasizes the big bold black of the TV and the strong white shape of the media unit. So I don’t think you can’t have any lines. just thinking some of the more subtle ones that go against the grain of the ceiling and floor might not work.

Thank you! Yes I agree the yellow pillows look a lot better in the gray chairs and they do make the poufs appear bigger 😃 I used to have some pillows on the couch but the dogs used them more than us. It’s just easier to vacuum off the leather sofa than on the pillows.

still might be worth it to get one of these just to toss over the chaise end of the couch for the pooches. Machine washable and They are all on sale for less than $40. Might look great. Can’t tell for sure on my screen

I can’t tell if there is room for it but have you tried placing the new table at the non-chaise end of the sofa? (Then maybe move your teal bench with the hairpin legs back in front of the sofa)

what a fun room! personally I really liked your layered tribal and "persian" rugs much more than the animal print ones. (sorry!)

for the TV wall, I recommend installing a LED light strip behind the TV or hidden along the top of the console. it adds a bit of subtle flair. or not so subtle if you choose color light strips. (personally, I prefer white.)

if you added light to the console instead, I wouldn't recommend doing the part underneath. it looks amazing in this sample photo, but is probably not practical if you have pets. but the lights at the top are beautiful.

Sorry if I’m driving you all crazy, but I’ve changed things around some more. I’ve been home in the snow/ice, so I’ve organized the kitchen and moved furniture again. I guess it’s kinda fun to move things to find what looks best. I layered my old rug on top and moved the couch back. If I leave it like this, I definitely need a sofa table I think. Just so much brown!

When looking for a sofa table should it be rectangular? Rectangle is my first thought but then I saw this picture with the round table and it made me question what would look the best. I know I have a lot of strong lines with everything. Do you have any ideas?

Well you could do that but you have to have benches on the side I think they use set table for AOA little snack or dessert

it is possible to buy now portable rechargeable lamps now, both table and floor lamps, that don’t require plugs and outlets nearby. you can find them with Google seaches. Some of the lighting can be very bright so read specs to look for ones that have dimmers or multiple settings

I have a 2x8 rug so I put it down for size.

I would not do that bench and end tables. It doesn’t work. If you don’t have a console, drape a throw on couch. The items on tv console might be too small. Get two large lamps with substantial shades. Flowers could go in kitchen. The dream catcher is too small too.

The lamp shade I have on the tv console is the biggest that will fit in diameter. It almost touches the wall.
