This is from my previous house. It was made from an upper and lower cabinet put back to back.

I have a very small kitchen. My clearances are minimal. If I'd had a choice, I would have widened the aisles on either side by about a foot. That said, my kitchen works for me because we're a single cook family. Here's my seatless island:
