Thank you, Maakia. I was derailed by a couple of heart attacks and a double by pass open heart surgery. My heart received a tune-up and I'm fine now back working in the garden.

I've noticed one peculiar characteristic of C. j. 'Sekkan'. The lower branches up to about 15 ft. tend to grow up more than the branches growing further up the trunk. This happens even out in the open. I'll try to get a picture later today.

I am rather fond of this tree myself. I have used it a number of times in client designs. It does very well in our climate and that color is such a beacon - just glows on a gray winter's day!! IMO, one of the best of the gold colored conifers.

Very beautiful when responding to a sheltered planting site but often a bit rough looking when conditions aren't as favorable. Otherwise I've noticed specimens at the larger and older end of the scale for our area starting to green out, unfortunately. This is a recurring phenomenon with yellow foliage forms of cypress family conifers, with those comparative few that remain instead fully colored standing out for doing this.
