I'd look for a vintage furniture piece, they are interesting and usually solid wood or wood veneer at least. A small buffet or even a narrow hutch top with furniture feet or legs added to the bottom. It's all about finding the right piece. You can still style it with abstract art or modern pieces, I love the intentional juxtaposition of old and new. Is that something you would consider?

Hi Bette, Yes, I have a couple of other buffet pieces or bottom of hutch in my home that I have painted. I would love to find a piece perfect for this space. I'm going lighter with the walls (sheeps wool) by BM eventually. I very much like mixing older and new:) The older piece are made so well!

Looks nice. I like that you haven't cluttered it up. Nice artwork. If you can get them, I think your drapes would look better if you added another panel on each side - as long as it doesn't impede the door.

Oh, that looks very nice and the scale looks good too for the width of the wall. Your diy, did you paint over a canvas you had? Sheep’s Wool might lean ever so slightly green, is that right? LRV is 74. What do you have on the walls now?

Hi Bette, ty! The art is wood..hubby made from leftover back side of wainscoating & frame homemade. I painted over old previous art I did. I cant recall what current wall paint color is as its been several years. I just repainted sitting room in sheeps wool. Its a very light gray.. I believe you're correct on the ever so slightly green. Im holding off for now as Im not set on the color. Suggestions?
