Certainteed Vinyl Siding product for Colonial house in New England

Hi, I’m looking for advice on which Certainteed vinyl siding product to use on my 1940 Garrison Colonial renovation in New England. Hardie Plank is cost prohibitive for us. See before and current photos. We have decided on Pacific Blue and want white wider corner and window trims, no shutters this time. I like the look of the wider boards/planks, but don’t love the wood grain look. We also don’t know if the architectural style of this house lends itself to breaking it up with areas of cedar shanks, or just doing the entire house in horizontal boards. Any advice or suggestions are welcomed, thanks!

We decided on Certainteed Mainstreet vinyl siding, horizontal 4" double clapboard for the entire house with 5" cornerboards for a nice wide trim. Mainstreet is a smidge thinner than Monogram (0.042" vs. 0.046"), but it lays a bit flatter to create less shadow/depth between boards. After driving around the area, not a lot of houses seemed to mix cedarboard and clapboard on this style of home, and it seemed like it would be overcomplicating things. The siding isn't finished yet, but it's coming along nicely!

Yes, absolutely. Hopefully it'll be done in the next 4 weeks (we are waiting for some other elements to be finished before the exterior can be completed).

The siding color and style is exactly what we wanted so we are very happy with that. I will say the installer did not do a good job and there are bumps and dents that unfortunately are quite visible and may void the warranty, so we are currently in discussions with our GC to get that fixed as soon as the weather is nicer.
